Proverbs 19:11

The  discretion of a man deferreth his anger, and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
Transgression is the highest form of sin. So it takes discretion, the highest form of prudence to over come transgression.

When we truly forgive someone of a transgression we must also forget that transgression or sin. This is not easy. Also, did you know that we can forgive people of an offense with them still being ignorant of their  offensive behavior? Of course we can let them know that this behavior is offensive, later.

When God forgives us , he places the transgression behind his back.Likewise, we must do the same with the sins, iniquities, trespasses and transgressions of others.Jesus looked down from the cross and said:  “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
In Ephesians 4: 11-15, we see the 5 fold ministry of Word gifts given by the Apostle Paul. These gifts also are picture of spiritual growth and maturity of each believer. The 2 Word  gifts here are : the Prophet and the the Apostle. Each of the 5 fold Word Gifts have a mantle of anointing. In Ephesians 4:31-32, Paul tell us :

“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger and clamor, and evil speaking be put away from        you, with all malice. And be ye kind one to another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God, for Christ’s sake, hath forgiven you.”

What this means is that the believer must pull off 6 things:
Evil Speaking

And put on:

Tenderheartedness (Sensitivity)

We will never reach Spiritual Maturity with (kindness, sensitivity or forgiveness) without first pulling off: bitterness, wrath, clamor, evil speaking, and malice!
